There ...That is absolutely true as far as it goes. There are two reasons why I castigate them anyway.

First, the Illinois State Police DO have a huge amount of influence on the state legislature--and they constantly use their influence to lobby against concealed carry and, for that matter, all gun rights in general. I'm not talking about individual troopers here, I'm talking about the organization itself--the leadership and the public lobbying they do as an organization.

Second, they don't say anything about using firearms where they're legal but being limited to other choices when you're out and about because of Illinois carry laws. They simply state that guns are no good.
Did you see any mention of pepper spray at that link? It's perfectly legal to carry in Illinois as long as you're 18 years of age, and it works a lot better than a ridiculous lie and a set of keys.
How about actual training in how to fight? Nope. Just go in with no training, grab a nail file and hope you'll rise to the occasion when the time comes to defeat a bigger, stronger opponent in a fight to the death.

So, you see, I understand your point, but the ISP doesn't get off that easily.Donhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15824445546892392815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5420886806115679313.post-31091221078462096982008-04-04T13:18:00.000-05:002008-04-04T13:18:00.000-05:00In case you forgot, carrying a handgun is illegal ...In case you forgot, carrying a handgun is illegal in the state of Illinois; therefore, the Illinois State Police PROBABLY should not suggest that people carry them. If you want to make a change, contact your lawmakers. The Illinois State Police don't make the rules, they enforce them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5420886806115679313.post-87900886173385177062008-03-18T04:02:00.000-05:002008-03-18T04:02:00.000-05:00Interesting.
