I'm All A-Twitter Over Here

I can't wait to see what Father "Snuffy" Pfleger comes up with this weekend. Two weeks ago, he led a protest outside Chuck's Guns in Riverdale, IL (If you haven't been following this, Father Pfleger and the Rev'rund Jesse Jackson claim that Chuck's sells too many guns to black people from Chicago, thus causing Chicago's considerable crime problem. It's all the fault of John Riggio, who owns Chuck's.)
At that protest two weeks ago, Father Snuffy told the crowd they should drag John Riggio out of his legal place of business and "snuff him." Father Pfleger says he doesn't know what "snuff" means; he thought he was saying they would expose Riggio. Apparently they use an "exposer" instead of a "snuffer" to put out the candles in Snuffy's church.
But last week, Snuffy and Jesse took it on the road again and went right back to Chuck's Guns--because when you fall off a bicycle or openly call for the assassination of an innocent man, you've got to get right back on.

Now comes news that the Snuffy and Jesse Show is going back to Riverdale this weekend (June 23rd, I think.) I think there's a very real possibility that Snuffy and Jesse (or SNJ as the kids call them) can get through two peaceful demonstrations in a row without threatening anyone with brutal murder.
We may be seeing some real growth.

  1. I hope to see you there. We really need a blockbuster turnout this week. I think we can even outnumber them even though they are being bussed in at the expense of taxpayers (see Pfleger's 501(c)3.)

Sounds like Ol' Snuffy and Mayor Bloomberg have been drinking the same Kool-Aid. Yeesh. "It's not our fault! It's those pesky gun stores!"

  3. Those evil guns and the evil Merchants of Death who sell them are to blame! Gawd forbid that we place blame on the men and women who commit the robberies, home invasions, drive-by shootings, murders, and other aoorted lesser felonies. They would be attendin' Church, singin' hymns and helpin' the poor, rehabbin' the houses of the elderly, and doin' all sorts of other good deeds in the community were it not for the MOD forcing them to buy those evil guns and then commit those terrible crimes!
Shame on you,for castin' aspersions on the Good Father and the Right Rev'rund Jackson! [sarcasm off]

  4. My brother from another mother is getting married Saturday, but from the looks of the thing, I'll have more chances to attend. It doesn't look like they're planning to stop any time soon.
