What Am I Thinking?

It's 20 minutes past 10:00 and I'm about to step out the door to drive an hour to get the new Harry Potter book at midnight . . . with a baby and twin boys dressed as Harry Potter . . . by myself.
Could this become evidence at my involuntary commitment hearing?
If you don't hear from me by Monday, something terrible has happened. Send Lawdog.

30 minutes in a Kroger surrounded by idiots, and I'm home with my copy. Yay!

Good luck - the kids at my location were a handful, and there wasn't anything particularly exciting going on there. I can't imagine how much hyperactivity is going on at a costume party.

"Costume party" turned out to be quite an exaggeration. We were at a Meijer store; my son nixed the Barnes and Noble idea when he heard about a costume contest.
The nice thing about it was that most people went to B&N, so when the line started moving, it MOVED. We were in the car by 12:30.

We were next to the toys and the pets in line, so the boys were entertained. The baby slept through the whole thing after the day he'd had (he missed his 3 a.m. feeding, too, and didn't make a peep until 5:30.) It turned out the lady in front of me is a friend of my crazy aunt, so we had something to talk about.
(If you're reading this, and you're my aunt, remember that I have TWO aunts and don't be so quick to take offense. Unless a friend of yours waited for the new Harry Potter book, that is.)

No, of course not.

This is the kind of thing I say would be fun, then about an hour beforehand, with the kids settled in and the baby happy in his crib, I just decide to forget the whole thing.

But my wife promised the boys she would take them, and then arranged to be in Wisconsin this weekend. I'm not saying she did it on purpose, mind you (who would go to Wisconsin on purpose?) but it's mighty convenient, that's all.
